Welcome and thank you for visiting!

I have more than 25 years of experience as a psychotherapist, working in both the hospital setting and private practice. I concentrate on helping my clients navigate through problems in day-to-day living to more complex issues that have reached crisis level.

My style is open, accepting and interactive. The objective of my sessions is to collaborate with you to create a plan for working together, taking into account your personal strengths and focusing on moving you toward reaching your goals. This is especially important for clients who often feel they are "floundering" in therapy, not making any lasting changes.

I hope that by spending some time on my site you will have a better understanding of who I am, what I do and how I might be helpful to you. Please feel free to contact me for more information. I look forward to working with you!

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I the right fit for you?

Finding a therapist who is the right fit for you is very important. I would describe myself as very warm, open and caring. I do my best to be my authentic self in the room with my clients, while offering support, practical coping skills and some levity when needed. By the end of the first 2-3 sessions you should have a sense of whether or not my counseling style and personality is compatible with yours. You will know I am a good fit for you if you feel heard, supported, and are opening up in new ways.

I’ve never been to counseling before. What can I expect?

When we first talk, we will spend a brief time discussing what has lead you to seek counseling. The first couple of sessions will be on collecting history, rapport building and getting to know you. From then on we will focus on your presenting problems, symptom reduction and personal growth. Sometimes the beginning of therapy can be hard as we bring difficult emotions to the surface, but I am here to support you through these difficulties and we will work through them together.

How long will I be in therapy?

The length of therapy differs with each person and situation. We will discuss this and re-evaluate as we progress. Therapy is typically done on a weekly basis until your life is back in balance. My goal is to create life-long relationships with my clients so that you will seek me out at those times when you are in need of extra support.

What are my payment options?

I provide therapy on a fee-for-service basis. Cash or check is required at the time of our appointment. Although I do not presently accept insurance as payment for services, I am happy to provide a superbill for your insurance company to reimburse you directly. Although it can be difficult to make the financial commitment to therapy, it is truly a valuable investment in yourself and your future.
